Zombie Rollerz: The Last Ship:

  • Designed and implemented levels that effectively balance gameplay and narrative objectives, considering factors such as 2D level layout, POI design, enemy placement, pacing, and more.

  • Leveraged in-house tools to create 3D level blockouts and script gameplay mechanics using C#, ultimately producing a functional prototype.

  • Developed gameplay and narrative spaces, utilizing quest design to create engaging experiences for players.

  • Collaborated with the design team and system designer to integrate new systems seamlessly into the levels.

  • Provided valuable feedback to the programmer team during testing of new features and tools, ultimately improving the overall quality of the game.

  • Collaborated closely with environment artists to ensure accurate implementation of design into the game engine, utilizing Excel to provide detailed references and guidelines.

  • Created level design documents to guide project development and ensure consistent quality across all levels.

The Sandbox Game Maker Project:

  • Researched for reference, and created ideation and concept of game mechanics, features, and levels.

  • Created detailed layout of the environment, including placement of props and triggers of events using The Sandbox Game Maker.

  • Ensured that all levels were fun to play while also challenging by testing each level repeatedly and iterating.

  • Collaborated with other designers on four different projects, contributing ideas and feedback when appropriate.

  • Worked closely with the environment artists to ensure proper implementation of the design into the game engine and created Excel to offer references for artists.

Showa American Story:

  • Used Unreal 4 engine to build levels and work with the lead level designer and 3D artists.

  • Communicated with the art team and propose some demands

  • Started from setting up the gray box level, revised several plans for the lead level designer’s selection

  • Tested unfinished or unpublished games

  • Generally, testing for games Close Alpha and Close Beta, including Console, Mobile and PC games.

  • Filled in a form to record the information of console, system version and network condition

  • In single-player game mode, tested the game demos, finding any bugs and glitches in passing the levels, reported the bugs and glitches where it happened as well as any error codes

  • In multiplayer games, tested network condition, microphone and whether there’s problem in cooperating with team players, recorded if there were any bugs or glitches and reported timely

  • Reviewed the game, including whether it’s playable, as well as the graphics , sound and art style.
